What’s New for 2010:
* New Log books - includes new ranking system
* Online web training for members
* Facebook page for CKA
* 2 Year bible reading schedule
The log book will become an important part of your karate training.  Our new belt program is outlined within the logbook and has progress sheets for you, the student to keep track of the progress.  The new belt program incorporates the same katas and character qualities.  Though a few of the character qualities have been revised.  Please be sure to look over each quality every month and learn the changes.   We have tried to simplify the basic requirements, expand on the required combinations and streamline pre-testing and testing, so more of the requirements fall on the student. All of this new material will be available in log book.

 For each belt sheet, there will be a total of 5 pages. The first page will be the actual belt sheet, and on the reverse side there will be a check off sheet for all required items on the belt sheet. This checkoff sheet will include 3 columns. The first one is for the student to check off when they learn one of the required items. After the student believes that they have learned the item to a passing score, they will mark off the second box. Once the first two boxes are checked off, the student will then be able to have a Sempai or Sensei evaluate that technique and then the Sempai or Sensei will check off the last box. Once all of the boxes on the page have been checked off, the student is ready to test. The 3rd and 4th pages are the Bible reading required for each rank. This consists of the chapters that contain the Bible verse for the character qualities. The last page is a form that the student will fill out when all of the boxes are checked off on their belt form. This form tells the instructor that the student is ready to test.

Each of you, as members of  WCKA, have made a commitment to train and study Karate.  As Christians we should make a commitment to train ourselves through study of the scripture.  So we challenge each of you to join us on a 2 year journey.  This journey of 24 months coincides with our 24 Character qualities, so throughout the 2 years you will learn 24 Character qualities, read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice.  Make the year 2010 your year to train yourself as a Christian.  Feel free to make comments and start discussions about the daily scriptures.
